It's so frustrating when you're looking for something, and you can't find it, and instead of blaming yourself for not organizing your stuff more correctly, you blame blogger.com
"Why can't blogger.com have a better archiving system?/!?!?!?!?!?!!"
Arrgggh.
I'm scrambling to find a link to a study I posted sometime ago about how preschool children could jump higher when they participated in a music and movement class.
Anyone? Anyone? Beuller?

Molly,
How funny, I just read that post day before yesterday when I was looking for something. Here's a quote I saved from it to share with my KM families:
“In a recent study, 4 to 6 year olds in a music and movement program showed more growth in motor skills than those in a standard physical education program. ... [Researchers] placed 50 children in an experimental music and movement program, and 42 in a traditional physical education program. After 8 weeks, the experimental group had improved significantly in both jumping and dynamic balance skills when compared to their peers in the traditional program.”
Early Childhood Research Quarterly (Vol. 19, Issue #4, 2004).
I'll see if I can't dig up the actual post as well.
I can't seem to post the link, but the title of the post is "Music makes you jump higher, too." If you search that on your blog it comes right up.
You are a life saver.
I didn't even know I could search my blog.
Yep. It's been a long week.
Thank you,
thank you,
thank you.
hey molly, next time just use google to search:
mollyskindermusik and a few keywords from that post.
it'll appear with the quickness.
i'm snorting at the beuller comment.
::poke:: you might want to think about moving to wordpress. ::poke::
http://mollyskindermusik.blogspot.com/2006/04/music-makes-kids-jump-higher-too.html
or i guess the google custom search would be:
site:mollyskindermusik.blogspot.com jump higher
how's that for an old friend coming up big? ;)
curt poff
Wordpress? Did I hear you say,"Wordpress"? ;-)
I feel somewhere between embarassed, gently poked, and well informed.
(Toe draws circle in the dirt).
Thank you all.
Seriously, though, the biggest surprise here is Curt Poff -- where are on earth have you been and why can't I find your blog?
Context: Curt is a kick back to my clerking days at the News & Observer in Raleigh. I started in journalism as a night news clerk, and Curt was part of that early start.
Joanna Kakissis, too. Quite a few people from that era that I'll never forget.
Curt, what are you up to?
Glad I could help, Ms. McGinn. I'm running websites in San Fran. All married off now, basically turning into a crusty old man. ;)
I'll help you set up a Google custom search for your blog, if your interested. 'Tis right up my alley of expertise. Just drop me a note.
Cheers,
Curt
