Filmmakers on music

"Studying music should be required for anyone who's interesting in filmmaking. When you are talking to your composer about music, you can have a semi-intelligent discussion about what music will work for a scene. For example, 'I want something with 7th and diminished chords using repeating arpeggios,' rather than 'can we get that Coldplay tune for right here?'" Local filmmaker and film Educator Stephen Van Vuuren
