A friend sent this to me. Both are singer/songwriters that I've been trying to avoid. Don't know why. But the lyrics in this song have changed my mind.

I like the song & lyrics. Can't say I care for the nasality of the voices. Did one of them actually write the song?
My college roommate and I used to always listen to Nanci Griffith on road trips. She has a song about the Woolworth store that always makes me smile. Thanks for the walk down memory lane!
I think John Prine wrote the song. I also love how they come together and back away to sing the song. Brave and bashful all at the same time.
Plus, I was recently talking with someone about music and they happened to mention these two, separately, as influences. Then this video appeared. Just one of those things. So I had to share.
Mostly I like the lyrical contradictions and the puzzle it makes me picture:

You come home late and you come home early
You come on big when you're feeling small
You come home straight and you come home curly
Sometimes you don't come home at all
My BF got me into John Prine. He also sings w/Iris Dement...
I LOVE his guitar playing.
